Deputy Conley wants the Sheriff’s job, girl friend, and the fame of killing the serial killer stalking the town. The Sheriff, who may be too tired to do his job can’t save his girlfriend from an attack. He struggles to let his comatose girl friend know how he feels about her. Meanwhile the sheriff and deputy suspect a drifter named Riley who seems to run with some range riders and then cuts out on his own. Deputy Conley hunts Riley down. The surprise ending comes after the Parson’s wife is murdered.
